After two runs given up by Rabe, Brodhead was brought onto the mound from the outfield and completely dominated.

“I just threw strikes,” Brodhead said. “I just helped the team out in any way I could.”

Brodhead also did some damage at the plate. In the six run fifth inning, Brodhead hit a fly ball and reached on an error by the second baseman. That error also helped the Chaps plate two runs.

“[I] just try to put it in play and get some runs home,” Brodhead said. “I just get some insurance runs.”

The Chaps are back at 4:30 for the final game of the tournament against San Marcos.

“[I want to see us] win,” Brodhead said. “Swing the bats, throw well.”

Brodhead finished his job and sat down the last three Cowboy batters in order to get the Chaps the late win over Coppell. A six run, fifth inning gave the Chaps their only runs of the game but it was all they needed. They are back for the final game of the tournament at 4:30 against San Marcos.

Brodhead is back out for the seventh and holds a four run lead over the Cowboys. The Cowboys made quick work of the Chaps in the bottom of the sixth with a pop-up bunt and then throw back to second base for the end of inning.

Three singles in a row helped the Chaps take over this ballgame 6-2, now in the top of the sixth. Brodhead keeps rolling on the mound after he brought home two runners on an error by the Cowboys second baseman.

Brodhead hadn’t allowed a run in his two innings of work. He continued that strong momentum in his third inning and sat three batters down and only allowing a runner on an error. The Chaps are still down 2-0, now the bottom of the fifth.

Chaps can’t do anything in the bottom of the third after Brodheads scoreless inning before. Westlake is still down 2-0, but now in the top of the fourth.

Brodhead moves in from the outfield to the mound for the top of the third inning and immediately starts his outing off with a strikout.

Two runs came across the plate for the Cowboys off of really well hit balls. Sophmore outfielder Chase Brodhead is due up.

Rabe got the Cowboys to sit down in order in on only 13 pitches. Senior third baseman Austin Knox is first up for the Chaps in the bottom of the first.

Junior pitcher Will Rabe will pitch for the second straight day and faces the top of the Cowboys order now.

The officaiting crew is here and the home plate meeting has happened. We are just about reday for a ball game on a beautiful 67 degree day with scattered clouds.
