Varsity boys soccer moves closer to playoffs

The varsity boys soccer team was defeated March 10 by Lake Travis 0-3. Although this was a tough loss, the team still has a chance to qualify for Bi-District playoffs. With a District record of 6-7-1 and an overall record of 7-8-2, varsity sits in fifth place in District, and the boys will need to win their next two games to move on.

“I really do think we’ll win [the next two games],” varsity coach John Campbell said. “I think the boys know what’s at stake here and are going to fight for their spot in the playoffs.”
If the boys do win their next two games, they will move on to Bi-District to play against the number one team in the Round Rock district.

The team will play against Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 13 at Del Valle High School. They will close out their regular season against Lehman at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 23 at Lehman High School.

“We are very confident that we will win these next games,” senior captain Luc Scranton said. “We know the level we can play at and we are not ready to let our season end before playoffs.”
