Westlake welcomes new counselor
Before second semester began Jan. 7, Caty Broderick joined the counseling roster after working in San Antonio as a counselor for the past three years. She was drawn to Westlake because of its status as an outstanding academic school. However, she actually first knew of Westlake having watched soccer games between Westlake and San Antonio.
“Westlake was always a great school academic-wise and athletic-wise, and it was always well known in the San Antonio area as a great school,” Broderick said. “Knowing that I wanted to move to Austin, Westlake was really the only choice I wanted to work at.”
Broderick is eager to meet new people on campus.
“[I’m looking forward to] meeting the students in my alphabet, meeting the teachers and finding my way around the school,” Broderick said.
Broderick is in charge of students with last names beginning in C and ending in EL and she is looking forward to the exciting things to come in her future as a counselor at Westlake.
