Rabe finishes off the Mustangs and gets the Chaps the win 5-2. They will be back for game two against Rockwall at 7:30 tonight.

A hard line drive down the third base line brings in two Mustang runners. Strain was pulled from the game and replaced with junior pitcher Will Rabe who then got the final out of the inning. After an intial walk, the Chaps went down in order. Now the top of the sixth and the Chaps hold only a one-run lead.

Chung lined one into the right-center gap, brining home junior center fielder Colton Stevens and extending the lead to 3-0. The Chaps wouldnt be able to get anything else. Strain will pitch his fifth inning with three runs to work with.

Senior first baseman Luke Rafferty puts down a sacrifice bunt and brings home Strain from third base. Now 2-0 Chaps in the third inning.

After two quick outs, the Chaps get a double thanks to freshman left fielder Hayden Chung that brings a runner from second. They would go on to load up the bases but a fielder’s choice erased the threat. The Chaps now lead 1-0 going into the third inning.

Strain fields a little bouncer back to the mound and tosses it to first to retire three in a row after an intital walk.

Although senior third baseman Lance Hayashi drew a walk, the Chaps cant muster anything else. The game is still even at 0-0 heading into the second inning.

Sophomore pitcher Owen Strain gets out of the inning unscathed after allowing a walk and another runner on base from an error. Chaps at bat next.

The Chaps are getting ready for the first of two games on the day. First pitch will begin shortly at 2:30.
