Movies so bad they’re good to watch during quarantine

Are you bored? Have you already watched every good movie available to you? Of course you have. Well, this means you’re ready to watch bad movies. Lucky for you I have compiled a list of my favorite terrible movies to fill your time. I recommend downloading the Netflix Party Extension to a computer, this way you’ll be able to make fun of these movies with all your friends!

I would also like to apologize that most of these are horror or suspense movies, but it’s so much easier to make fun of these movies. Sorry if you don’t like “scary” stuff, but I promise it’s worth it.

Movie: Disturbia

Where to watch: Amazon Prime

Why you should watch: A teenage Shia LeBeouf is placed under house arrest and picks up a new hobby: watching his neighbors. This movie has such a weird and specific storyline with mystery and murder yet the audience is supposed to fall in love with a goofy boy who likes to watch other people. I could watch it a thousand times.

Movie: The Terrifier

Where to watch: Netflix

Why you should watch: This movie is like any other creepy clown movie, only it’s incredibly disgusting. The writing and acting don’t need to be good because you’re too busy focusing on what the clown is doing to be scary. He spends a lot of time just looking at people and smiling. There is not a ton of action on his part. Also, the clown’s name is Art. I don’t know why but that makes it 1,000 times better.

Movie: Emo The Musical

Where to watch: Netflix

Why you should watch: It’s all in the name. It’s a movie-musical about a young boy named Ethan who wants to be in the cool Emo group so bad, but will he fall for the nice Christian girl? The songs are incredible and the entire plot is laughable. (Keep an eye out for the song “Would Jesus?” It’s my personal favorite.)

Movie: XX

Where to watch: Netflix

Why you should watch: This movie is actually a collection of four short films, all of which are within the horror genre. The short films themselves aren’t bad and some are pretty creative, but in between each of them, there is a stop motion animation of a doll house that’s alive. I couldn’t tell you why I’ve seen this movie so many times, but I feel as though others should watch it and feel what I felt throughout all of it. (The first short film is the best one, sorry).

Movie: The Girl On The Third Floor

Where to watch: Netflix

Why you should watch: This is the story of a man who buys a house in a small town and attempts to remodel it entirely by himself. Of course there’s some creepy girl and the house is haunted and whatever. But what really seals the deal for this terrible movie is how bad this man is at everything. Rips open walls without knowing what’s inside, touches mold and other nasty substances, cleans up whatever goo was left behind by squatters, all without gloves. He also wears a button-down and dress shoes every day. It’s almost impossible to get through.
