20th anniversary of Battle of the Bands approaching
Westlake musicians are coming together for a night of fun and music. The twentieth anniversary of Battle of the Bands will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26. in the Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $10 and are being sold in room 281 and during both lunches the week of the performance.
Battle of the Bands is a musical fundraiser for The Featherduster and TEC where student bands compete against one another.
This year’s bands are Skyline, Hate Mail, Iconoclasm, The Cicadas and Big Wy’s Brass Band. Each band gets to perform a 15-minute set, and the winner will be chosen by a people’s choice vote, audience members should remember to bring their phones.Individual awards will also be presented.
“It’s amazing to see high schoolers put on such a professional show,” senior Zhouie Martinez said. “I look forward to Battle of the Bands every year.”
