Chaps sweep dual swim meet

The swim team took on Cedar Park High School in a dual meet last Friday at the Rollingwood pool. The Chaps swept the meet, with girls beating Cedar Park 159-135 and boys winning 136-105.

“Overall the meet went really well,” junior Zach Thomas said. “We won most of the events so that was good. I am really happy with the way our team is looking, and I think we are going to be really strong at the next few meets coming up.”

Senior Margaret Beck also feels that the team is headed for a strong season.

“The team is definitely going in the right direction,” Margaret said. “Everyone has been looking strong and fluid in the water the past few meets. If we are doing as well as we are this early in the season, we will be in great shape for Districts when it comes.”

The Chaps still have a long way to go until their District meet, which takes place at the end of January.

“Although I am super excited to swim at Districts, because it is so much fun, I am glad that it isn’t for a while,” junior Bryanna Hundt said. “I need some more time to prepare.”

The Chaps’ next meet will be the AISD Invitational held at the UT Swim Center on Nov. 11.
