10. Joe’s
1300 S Congress Ave
This is a classic South Congress staple. Joe’s is one of the biggest attractions in Austin, known for its famous “I love you so much” mural. The energy at Joe’s is amped up as you see tourists take endless photos in front of the iconic green wall and sip their sweet morning treat. But for locals, Joe’s can be seen more as a tourist trap rather than your everyday spot. However, Joe’s is still great coffee and has multiple locations throughout the Austin area that make it worth the tourism.
9. Nate’s Baked Goods & Coffee
401 Orchard St suite B
Hidden away on a busy street downtown is the cozy, local feeling that is Nate’s coffee. The coffee at Nate’s is pretty good, but what makes it fall on my Top 10 list is the ambiance. It feels like you’re in a winter cabin in the middle of a blizzard. The warm environment does not end at just the physical appeal of Nate’s, but also it’s inviting employees who give utmost attentive service.
8. Trianon Coffee
3654 Bee Caves Rd Ste A
Ah, Trianon. A Westlake staple and the sole reason my college applications were in on time. Trianon offers such a warm atmosphere, perfect for those who want a quiet place to work, catch up with friends or reset after a long day. Trianon’s commitment to quality brewing does not go unnoticed. Their selection of house-roasted beans ensures satisfaction every time. This beloved neighborhood spot definitely makes my Top 10 as it is always the first option that comes to mind when I need a quick pick me up.
7. Caffe Medici
1100 S Lamar Blvd #2125
Medici has been a part of the Austin coffee scene for quite some time now, and it’s not hard to see why. Medici is dedicated to the consistency and quality of its coffee. Medici has multiple locations across Austin and having visited a couple of them, I can proudly say that its reputation is upheld at every single store. Medici also has mouth watering pastries that go so perfectly with whatever you decide to sip on. Their chocolate croissants are a perfect ten out of ten and quite literally dissolve in your mouth. I highly recommend Medici for anyone seeking an Austin classic that is sure to impress.
6. Mañana Coffee
1603 S Congress Ave
Nestled inside the South Congress Hotel is the chic and calm environment that is Mañana Coffee. They have a heavy emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and a full artisanal menu that results in sustainability and delicious coffee. Mañana has a minimalist design and serene atmosphere providing the perfect escape from the bustling city. The coffee brewed at Mañana is nothing short of magnificent and always gives you the energy you need to power through the day.
5. Epoch Coffee
221 W N Loop Blvd
Epoch is what I like to call my alma mater. I have been going to Epoch for years and never pass it up. Epoch is amazing and so welcoming to anyone who may stumble upon it. The cozy layout at Epoch and very obvious advocacy for equality and community is what make it so appealing. The variety of people represented at Epoch, students, artists, professionals, etc., is so comforting. I don’t doubt that everyone who has tried Epoch only has positive things to say. Their menu is so diverse making it a guarantee that anyone can enjoy their time spent in this classic Austin shop.
4. Noble Joe’s Coffee
Southshore Eatery Food Truck Park, 1620 E Riverside Dr
Noble Joe’s offers a nostalgic experience with its vintage-style coffee truck. Their undying commitment to serving quality coffee is never taken for granted. The baristas are so meticulous with their creations and always prove that it is worth coming back for. The baristas are all so friendly and make an effort to have a genuine interaction with every customer. I love Noble Joe’s and it is such a delightful destination for coffee enthusiasts.
3. Spokesman Coffee
440 E St Elmo Rd A2
Spokesman just has something about it that I am drawn by. Everytime I have been to Spokesman it climbs higher and higher on my ranking. The interior of Spokesman is so vibrant and artistic which makes waiting in line a lot more enjoyable. When I take a sip of my coffee from the Spokesman I pause and think “Yep. This is quality coffee.” There are so many customizable options to ensure that your coffee is exactly what you could ever dream of. Whether you’re searching for somewhere for leisure or relaxation, Spokesman is definitely one of your top options.
2. Merit Coffee
1105 S Lamar Blvd
I have yet to meet someone who dislikes Merit. How could you dislike it? Merit has established such a strong presence in Austin due to its dedication for some of the best coffee around. The ambiance is refined but inviting, making it ideal for any reason you may find yourself there. Merit coffee is so good. Every drink of theirs seems to have a milky texture that is so smooth and surprising. The first time I tried Merit, I went back the next morning chasing that first sip feeling. You’re going to have a satisfying experience no matter what. I always have a good experience with the staff, flavors and environment, putting Merit at number two.

Desnudo
We have officially made it to number one: Desnudo Coffee. Where do I start? Desnudo changed my outlook on how I rate coffee. Desnudo has absolutely blown every other place out of the water. It is what I get when I really want to reward myself. Their menu is filled with signature drinks that are simply irresistible. The coffee alone is so unique, and all of the beans are produced by a small farm in Colombia ensuring fair business and practices. The workers at Desnudo are incredible. Every single interaction I have had with any of the baristas has felt so personal and reflects how much they truly care about you getting exactly what you’re craving. The co-owner Juan often engages with the crowd, offering samples and friendly banter. Desnudo truly makes it seem like it’s not a business with the intention to earn profit, but more an invitation to the coffee community. Every experience at Desnudo is a great one that leaves you wanting more and more.
