Every year around August, Starbucks drops their delicious fall menu items consisting of new drinks, bakery items and special toppings. Even though it’s still 90 degrees in Austin, we can still get excited about a taste of fall. The most popular item, the pumpkin spice latte, is estimated to make around $400 to $800 million a year.
Former Starbucks barista and new AP English teacher, Brady Schuh, has discerning tastes.
“I hate pumpkin spice,” Schuh said. “As a former barista, it is a horrible concoction to make and smells awful and tastes raw.” “But I love getting a cold brew and adding apple stuff to it during the fall.”
If pumpkin spice isn’t your thing, the Starbucks fall menu also includes many fall drinks. They have an iced pumpkin chai, iced apple chai, iced hazelnut shaken espresso, apple crisp macchiato and more.
“I love the iced pumpkin chai, it’s so comforting,” Junior Margaret Mills said.” I always add extra pumpkin flavoring to it because I love the fall season.”
Along with the popular and record-breaking pumpkin spice latte, Starbucks has festive fall food items including the pumpkin cream cheese muffin, the baked apple croissant, pumpkin and pepita loaf and the new racoon cake pop.
“My favorite food item on the Starbucks menu is the pumpkin pepita loaf,” junior Addie Ledbetter said. “The fall menu is always a great transition from summer to fall.”

When the fall menu comes out, it gives people many new options to switch up their go-to order.
“In the fall, I order off the fall menu every time I go. I like being able to switch up my order to get into the fall spirit,” Ledbetter said.
There’s many options in this year’s fall menu . Starbucks ends the fall menu at the beginning of November and will bring it back next year in August.
