Girls varsity basketball looks to wrap up season strong
Girls varsity basketball looks to wrap up season of improvement.
As the season draws to a close, the girls varsity basketball team is focused on finishing strong.
“I think the season has gone well so far, and we have made huge improvements in the past few months,” freshman guard Emily Seghers said. “Since the beginning of the year, our team has matured and learned what it takes to compete at our level, as well as learning how to work together as one unit.”
Although some might think that the team’s fifth-place standing in District with a record of 4-7 is lackluster, they have still played some great basketball over the season with only one senior, team captain Sydney Davis, and four juniors on the roster.
“Each game we build on our experience and every game is an opportunity for us to grow as a team,” Emily said. “You can see the improvement from game to game in our confidence and experience.”
They play their final game at Lehman on Feb. 7.
