“Joining the band has been a big decision that’s affected my life. I got into Varsity and it’s a lot of practice and it takes up a lot of my free time. It’s interesting learning to march. There’s a lot of work involved [and] a lot of time and effort devoted to it, and I wasn’t prepared. In middle school I just wanted to get better. I hope I get used to it because I’ve always really liked playing the trumpet and I really want to continue that through my years in high school. I look forward to seeing everyone. It’s a very social sort of thing, everyone has your back there so it feels kinda great. It’s a very good program.”
