Volleyball to play Pflugerville for first round of playoffs
In a match to decide the seeding for volleyball playoffs, District co-champs Westlake and Lake Travis traveled to Dripping Springs Friday to face off after having split their wins in District.
Westlake and Lake Travis took the court and prepared for one of the biggest games of their season. The Lady Chaps started with a strong 25-15 win over the Cavaliers in game one. The second set got a little closer, going 29-27, because a team must win by at least two points. In game three, the Chaps were able to hold Lake Travis to 25-19.
“It was a great job by our kids,” coach Al Bennett said. “They played gritty.”
The Lady Chaps had done it. They managed to beat Lake Travis in just three games, an improvement over their first District meeting this year which resulted in a loss and the second time which went five games and resulted in the win. Westlake will now go on to play Pflugerville in Regionals at 7 p.m. Nov. 4 at Rouse High School. Pflugerville went 6-6 in District.
Lake Travis will play Hendrickson High School, who went 7-5 in District, tonight.
