Children these days don’t even know what they’re missing. Being brainwashed into thinking that shows like A.N.T. Farm, Dog with a Blog and Austin & Ally are actually high quality entertainment, when in reality they have missed the Disney Channel prime time. Kim Possible, That’s so Raven, Lizzie McGuire and Even Stevens were THE shows to watch. The shows parents actually wanted their kids to watch and that had a reputable name.
The classics taught you valuable lessons relevant to the on goings of life; not thinking that it’s reality that dogs talk or that everyone communicates in cheesy clichés on a regular basis. Kim Possible was an awesome crime-fighting cheerleader who was still your average teenage girl with the drama and stresses of high school. It doesn’t get better than that. And no, it’s not exactly a realistic show, but it taught you important lessons about friends and family. Today there’s a lack of shows that teach any valuable lessons besides that it’s ok to move to New York City and become a nanny for a wealthy family, like in Jessie.
I think Disney would see a huge rise in ratings, parent approval and overall quality of their channel if they’d stop trying to come up with these failed ideas for shows and simply rerun all the classics.
It’s the same for the Disney channel movies, the acting now is despicable. No more Motocrossed or High School Musical or Brink! Nope, we are subjected to seeing such horrible acting and pointless storylines that they’re all disgraces to cinematography. Princess Protection Program? Seriously? The lack of talent and originality displayed overall on Disney Channel now is shameful to the shows our generation grew up with. It’s a serious problem that needs to be dealt with immediately for our generations to come, unless of course we’d rather our children’s minds be filled with completely useless material
