Jam Fest is a battle of the bands that raises money for the Eanes Education Foundation, an organization that funds numerous teacher positions in the Eanes district. Auditions will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 in the Ninth Grade Center cafeteria. Interested musicians can play with a group or go solo and the coordinators will place them in one. Applicants can register at www.bandaidschoolofmusic.com.
“Jam Fest is an event that lets us all know ‘Rocking Out’ can help our community,” Jam Fest organizer James Mays said. “Teen bands from all over Austin will battle for prizes and will help raise money for the Eanes Education Foundation. Jam Fest is in its sixth year. It’s sponsored by great Austin businesses that support education and Rock ‘n Roll, including Dr. Randy Kunik and Band Aid School of Music.”
Those who make it through the auditions will perform on Jan. 19 at Atone’s and have a chance to win a professional recording session by Flabby Road Studios. Questions and sponsorships can be directed to [email protected].
