The Westlake Pottery Department will hold a completely student driven art festival, Artisan Handmade Market. The festival will incorporate a variety of different types of art by professional as well as aspiring student artists. The best part is all proceeds go to the Eanes Education Foundation to help support Westlake.
“Live music will help to contribute to the fun and energetic vibe we will be presenting in celebration of the creative process, and how when people get together in a collaborative process they can truly make an impact,” ceramics teacher Dawn Delgado said.
If the amazing atmosphere isn’t enough, come experience the Artist Trading Card Table and create a one-of-a-kind master piece. For those art admirers, there will be demonstrations by both students as well as professional artists, and a large selection of pieces on display for silent auction.
The director and coordinator of this event is ex-Westlake student, Marie Jacobsen. Anyone and everyone is invited to attend, the festival will take place on Dec. 1, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Dec. 2, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Westlake High School, 4100 Westbank Drive.
