Dance department showcases Spotlight
On Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m., the dance department will perform a large dance production featuring Dance I, II, III, IV, Hyline, Star Steppers, Jazz Co. and Funky Co in the Performing Arts Center. Admission is free and seating will be first-come-first-serve.
This year, the dance girls have been working extra hard every morning to pull this performance together.
“We practice from 7-9 a.m. every morning to prepare for our dances,” Hyline dancer sophomore Alex Denton said.
There will be group performances as well as dances from individual dance teams.
“Hyline is doing a modern dance,” Alex said. “[In Spotlight] we are able to showcase some of our first dances we’ve learned this school year.”
Each dance class has its own routine and style of dancing, making Spotlight a mixed show of modern, jazz, hip-hop and many more dance styles.
“This year, all the dancers and dance routines are great so it should be a really great show,” Alex said.
